Our Governance

Lanchester Primary School is part of Danes Educational Trust. The Trust sets the governance arrangements for each school through the Scheme of Delegation.

Currently, the governance of the school is overseen by an Interim Action Board, a group of experienced education professionals, whose role it is to both support and challenge the leadership of the school. 

During 2024, we will appoint a new School Board (local governing body), which will include elected staff and parent governors.

Members of the Interim Action Board:

  • Rob Carpenter, Interim Co-CEO, Danes Educational Trust (Chair)

Rob is a National Leader of Education and has 25 years experience of senior leadership in primary education, including over 20 years as a Headteacher. Rob has experience of leading schools to outstanding from very low starting points and a track record for securing pupil outcomes above national expectations.

  • Abolade Odunsi, Chair, Ascot Road Primary School Board

Abolade is a senior procurement professional working within the manufacturing industry. Abolade holds a degree in Business and Enterprise Management, complemented by a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. Abolade has been a governor at Ascot Road since 2020 and became the chair of governors in September 2022.

  • Sue Reid, Independent Education Consultant

Sue is a qualified teacher of science with NPQH and post graduate qualifications in science education and school leadership development. Sue is currently a self -employed education consultant working across England for maintained schools, stand-alone academies and academy chains. Sue inspects schools internationally and specialises in improvement of SEN provision, teaching and learning and leadership in schools.

  • Beryce Nixon, CEO, Exceed Learning Partnership

Beryce has worked in educational leadership for 25 years and has been a National Leader of Education since 2011 She has led the development of individual schools to an outstanding level and is the creator of a multi-academy trust. Beryce’s work in education was recognised in the 2024 New Years Honours List, when she was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire).
