In spite of Covid-19, we are delighted to be able to offer face to face tours, with small numbers. These will take place after school and we will ask parents to wear face coverings. Please contact the school office on 01923 224160 or email for further information. In the meantime, you may also want to view our Virtual Tour on our website. Lanchester Community Free School

...for a better future

Dear parents, prospective parents and members of the public,

As Principal at Lanchester CFS since April 2018, I am delighted to welcome you to our website.  This may be your first contact with the school and we hope it will be followed by many more.

We are a new primary school, serving Central/West Watford, which is a vibrant and thriving community.  The school was set up in 2014 and is growing year on year.  We are situated in a beautiful and unique listed building that is a well-known landmark in the town centre.  We are very close to many interesting and useful local features and amenities, such as the Watford Central Library, Cassiobury Park, West Herts College and the Watford Central Sports Centre, run by Everyone Active.  We are lucky to be able to make use of all of these opportunities to enrich the learning of our children.

The staff at Lanchester and I share a common commitment and passion for the life chances of our children.  We work hard to make sure that all children succeed and thrive - and, most importantly, that they develop a love for learning.

The children are definitely the jewels in our crown and are a constant pleasure to work with.  We are supported by an active PTA and Governing Body (with several parent members) and the Trust itself is tremendously supportive.

This is a lovely school that is growing and improving all the time.  We aim to become one of the schools of choice for all children in this part of Watford.  I look forward to meeting you and showing you around.
