Please bring these clothes in on Monday for our first Carol Performance.

We are researching Christmas traditions from around the world.
We would like to create a display within our classroom celebrating traditions.
If you have any pictures of your family traditions for any celebration we would love for you to bring them in for our display.
Please Note our Library day is fortnightly on Fridays.
Upcoming weeks this half term- Week 5, Week 7
Today we refreshed our memories on how to keep safe when we are online.

Our new Building Learning Power attribute is Collaboration!
Well done to Tiger class for their collaboration during Science! It was wonderful to see you working as a team to fold paper planes and carry out scientific investigations!
Tiger class collaborated in their Houses last week in their PE lesson. Each house worked together to practice their ball dribbling skills.
Every day Tiger Class collaborate in their Maths Lesson. It is fantastic to watch everyone working together to solve challenging maths questions.
Well done Tiger Class for displaying Collaboration everyday in many ways!
We have been working with our new marking scheme Stick. Mark. Boom! Our new scheme allows the children to understand what we will be learning throughout Year 2, we also know the statements that are going to allow us to achieve different types of texts. We have been developing our self marking and peer marking against these statements. It has been a challenge and there is much to learn, but the children are approaching the new scheme with enthusiasm and resilience. We are very excited about how far our learning can go using our new scheme! Well done to all the Year 2's for their hard work and perseverance!
As a class, we would like to congratulate our class representatives on our school's
Junior Leadership Team (JLT):
Well done to Kelsi and Vishnu!
What a busy first few weeks we have had back. We have delved right into our unit of Inquiry and are enjoying learning all about the inventors, history and science of FLIGHT!
We have learnt about the forces on an aeroplane during flight
We have carried out simple tests where we have predicted, changed variables, recorded data and drawn conclusions from our findings.
That different variables effect how far a plane flies
Exploring place value has been fun, we have engaged in many different games and hands on activities that have allowed us to visually see numbers as Hundreds, Tens and Ones. We have been ordering, sequencing and stating the value of digits. Mental Maths has been an exciting addition to our Maths Lessons and the children are setting their own personal goals and challenges each day!
Our hands have been extremely busy writing lately with recounts, character descriptions, thank you letters and non-chronological reports.
The BFG has been a welcomed visitor each day as we lose our-self in the wonderful Roald Dahl story. We even had a chance to try SNOZZCUMBER! We have mixed class views on how tasty the Giant Snack actually is!
Our school was very fortunate to have a special visit from Pilot Tracey. Tracey inspired us to work hard at what we want to achieve in life, to follow our dreams and to never give up. As an adventurer, we enjoyed hearing about the amazing experiences you can have when you take risks! Tracey's visit left us wanting to know more about famous Pilots from history. We are going to be researching this more in our English Lessons. We would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to Pilot Tracey!
